Dr. Courtney Jackson Blair is a Board Certified Allergist and Immunologist who also achieved Board Certifications in both Internal Medicine and in Pediatrics. 

She specializes in adult and pediatric allergy and asthma care and has dedicated her career to caring for allergic patients in Northern Virginia. She has additional special interests in chronic idiopathic urticaria and food allergies, and enjoys caring for patients with a wide variety of atopic diseases.  Dr. Blair joined Allergy and Asthma Associates in 2008. In 2011 she became a co-owner of the practice, and in 2019 she took on the role as sole owner of the practice.

She lives in Arlington with her husband and two children.


Amir Shahlaee, M.D. | Vice-President 

Board Certified Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology, Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, General Pediatrics



Dr. Amir Shahlaee is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia. He trained in Pediatrics at UAB followed by training in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the Johns Hopkins-NIH Joint Program and Allergy-Immunology at the Medical College of Georgia.


Dr. Shahlaee’s clinical interests involve the care of adult and pediatric patients with allergic and immunologic disorders including asthma. Additionally, Dr. Shahlaee has an extensive academic background and has previously served on the staff at the University of Florida School of Medicine and at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He also has an interest in drug development and clinical trial design and works as a consultant with the pharmaceutical industry.


Theodore Kim, M.D., FACP, FAAAAI, FACAAI| Treasurer  

Board Certified Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology, Internal Medicine 



Dr. Kim is a graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He trained in Internal Medicine and completed his fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He proudly served as a U.S. Army Lt. Colonel and physician. He currently practices at Allergy Partners of Northern Virginia in Chantilly.  

He enjoys teaching, and has taught students and medical residents at several universities, most recently as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at The George Washington University.

Y. Howard Pung, M.D. | Past President

Dr. Pung is the Director/Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Division of Allergy and Immunology at Georgetown University Medical Center.  He also maintains his private practice full-time in Rockville/Germantown, Maryland.
