Sadia Hayat, MD, FAAAAI | President
Board Certified Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology
Dr. Hayat completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Texas – Houston Health Sciences Center, and completed a combined fellowship in Allergy & Immunology and Rheumatology at Washington University in St Louis / Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She was then Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed and referenced papers and was core faculty of the fellowship training program.
Dr. Hayat currently works at the Institute for Asthma & Allergy. She focuses on pediatric and adult Allergy and Immunology.

Karen Kaufman, DO, FAAAAI | Vice President
Board Certified Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology
Dr. Kaufman is an award winning Allergist Immunologist, received a Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University, and her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California, and fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She is a Diplomat of American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Dr. Kaufman is also a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. She has repeatedly been honored as one of the region's top doctors and has been named the Face of Allergy and Immunology for Washington Magazine.

Luke Pittman, MD | Secretary / Treasurer
Board Certified Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology
Dr. Pittman began his military career after graduating from West Point in 2012. He earned his MD from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine in 2016 and completed internal medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center (Tacoma, WA) in 2019. He went on to graduate allergy/immunology fellowship at the National Capital Consortium (Bethesda, MD) in 2021. He is board certified in internal medicine and allergy/immunology and is a Fellow of the AAAAI and ACAAI.
He currently serves as Program Director for the allergy/immunology fellowship at the National Capital Consortium, headquartered at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He is the U.S. Army’s Deputy Consultant to the Surgeon General for allergy/immunology and the primary consulting allergist for the White House Medical Unit.
Dr. Pittman is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (Bethesda, MD). He is the Principal Investigator at Walter Reed for NCT05645107, a phase III clinical trial investigating Xembify 20% subcutaneous immunoglobulin replacement versus placebo for the prevention of infection in patients with CLL, NHL, MM, hypogammaglobulinemia, and recurrent and/or major infections. He is actively involved in academic medicine, research, and publication.

Deepthi Gadde, MD |

Dr. Deepthi Gadde, MD is a board-certified adult/pediatric allergist and clinical immunologist. Dr. Gadde earned her bachelor’s degree in Management Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She completed her medical degree and internal medicine residency at George Washington University. She received her training in Allergy and Immunology at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, where she continues to be on staff as an assistant professor. Dr. Gadde helps patients with a wide range of conditions, including non-allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma, drug allergies, food allergies, anaphylaxis, eczema, and hives.
